When aiming to film in Japan, neither an intimate knowledge of Japan nor extensive experience in international production is sufficient to bring a successful shoot to fruition. TOHO Tombo Pictures serves as the bridge between these worlds.
It is our role to accurately interpret the intent of international productions and filmmakers into the Japanese production environment. We provide realistic options, suggestions and decision-making tools based on an understanding of how films and commercials are actually made and an intimate knowledge of the many factors that make shooting in Japan uniquely challenging, but infinitely rewarding.

The combined backing of Japan's most historic film production company and a team comprised of individuals with extensive experience in film production places TOHO Tombo Pictures in the foremost position to bringing projects to life with the highest level of quality and care.
Furthermore, access to Asia's largest TOHO Studios is one of TOHO Tombo Pictures tangible production foundations.
For over 30 years, I have been involved in filming international productions in Japan. Throughout that time, I have repeatedly felt that Japan holds tremendous potential—as both a filming location and a production environment—that it can proudly offer to the world.
At the same time, for international productions, filming in Japan has often presented significant challenges. Differences in systems, language, customs, and production workflows have created hurdles in both decision-making and execution.
TOHO Tombo Pictures was founded to bridge these gaps.
Rather than simply introducing Japan's production environment, we strive to support international productions from a perspective grounded in a deep understanding of how films and commercials are actually made—helping guide both their decisions and their execution.
We aim to make the choice to film in Japan more natural, more secure, and more creatively fulfilling.
And we are committed to being a trusted partner in making that possible.
